Privacy Policy

Homefront helps you journal and write letters to a missionary. We collect only what the app needs to work for you.

What we store

• Your email address — used to sign you in (email and password, or a magic link).
• Your journal entries and letters — saved to your private account so they sync across your devices. Until you sign in, everything stays only on your device.
• Your settings — greeting, sign-off, missionary details, reminder time, and appearance.
• A notification token — if you turn on reminders, so we can send your daily nudge.
• Subscription status — if you subscribe to Homefront Pro, your purchase is handled by Apple, and we use RevenueCat to keep track of whether your subscription is active. We never see your payment-card details.
• Basic diagnostics — if something goes wrong, the app may log the error (what happened, the screen you were on, your app version, and browser type) so we can fix it. No journal content is included.

How AI is used

Two AI providers help produce your results:

• Voice transcription (OpenAI). When you record an entry, the audio is sent to OpenAI to turn your speech into text.
• Writing (Anthropic). When you ask Homefront to clean up an entry or write a letter, that text is sent to Anthropic to do the writing.
• Writing-voice samples (Anthropic). If you set up “Your writing voice,” the writing samples you paste or upload are sent to Anthropic for a one-time analysis. The documents and samples are not stored — only the short style summary they produce is saved to your account, and you can clear it anytime.

Both are used only to produce your result and return it to you. Your content is not used to train their AI models, and we do not sell or share it.

Who can see your data

Only you. Every record is locked to your account at the database level (row-level security), so no other user can read it.

Deleting your data

You can permanently delete your account and all of your entries and letters at any time from Settings → Delete account & all data. This cannot be undone.

Children

Homefront is intended for adults (a parent or family member writing to a missionary).

Homefront is provided as-is, to help you capture your days and write letters. You own everything you write. Don't use the app to create unlawful or abusive content. We may update these terms; continued use means you accept the changes. The service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, and AI-generated text should always be reviewed by you before sending.
